Our GeoTextile is a needle punched non woven material. Polypropylene material that resembles felt and can provide water flow. Underlayment uses include aggregate drains, asphalt pavement overlays, erosion control and of course under and over pondliner. Panels are available in 5ft and 15ft widths.
Adding a Geotextile Underlayment will ensure that your pondliner stays puncture free. Adds up to 300 % puncture resistance over using no underlayment at all. Don't settle for newspaper, sand or used carpet padding. Understand that newspaper offers 0 padding, sand will just settle and carpet padding will rot, smell and if you miss one tack your liner could leak. Underlayment is usually used under the pondliner and matched in square footage. Tip: Underlayment can also be used on to of the liner to keep rocks and boulders from puncturing through the liner.
Important Note: Underlayment kits will include multiple pieces to make up size. This will usually be done in as few pieces as possible. Not an issue since the underlayment does not retain water. Examples: 15 x 20 Underlayment = most likely will come in 1 pieces. 30 x 40 Underlayment = most likely 2 pieces of 15 x 40. Could also include 4 x 15x20 pieces. You will always get the total footage ordered.
